To better accommodate the logistical constraints of those in the offshore industry and reduce associated costs, Precision Helidecks now offer a self-paced online training course. This course provides an affordable and practical way to obtain the necessary certification required as a prerequisite for further Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) and Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL) training to be certified as either a Helideck Assistant (HDA) or a Helideck Landing Officer (HLO) under OPITO and IOGP-690 requirements.

HOIT COURSE PROFILE
The cost of this course is $650, and the student can complete the course at their own pace.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Our HOIT training equips candidates with essential knowledge, understanding and skills to safely and effectively perform the roles of offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) and Helideck Assistant (HDA). This course is developed in strict alignment with OPITO standards and format, as outlined in IOGP Report 690.

This course is ideal for anyone appointed or interested in being appointed as either HLO or HDA. It is a mandatory precursor before being directed into one of these disciplines.

This self-paced course is OPITO equivalent and complies with IOGP-690 standards and provides a thorough understanding of the practical aspects of offshore helideck operations. Emphasis is placed on helideck hazards, management systems, and the responsibilities of helideck crew during helicopter landing and departure on both attended and unattended installations.
